VAUGHN WILLIAMS

Vaughn Williams is a retired partner from the nationally-renowned law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Vaughn was born in Los Angeles, earned a bachelor’s degree in American history and literature from Harvard in 1966, and attended Stanford Law School. In 1969, during his third year at Stanford, he was distinguished as the president of the Stanford Law Review. During his long career at the New York office of Skadden, he worked in class-action and merger-and-acquisition litigation. He has also represented companies in complex financial investigations undertaken by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the New York Stock Exchange, and other regulatory agencies.
Very active in nonprofit leadership throughout his life, Vaughn served on the board of the Apollo Theater Foundation, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, St. Vincent Catholic Medical Centers, Lawyers for Children, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and Stanford University.
